Umm... I didn't really notice. I'm sure it's happened a couple times, but it never really occurred to me.. I was thrilled the first time one of my topics had more than 3 replies, though.. and also happy when one of my threads didn't die within an hour of posting it.

But making it onto the second page hasn't really been that big a deal to me.

two pages? what's that?

i'm just grateful when i refresh something i post and see at least 80% of the replies are on topic.

i'm not the most creative person in the world, so i don't contribute alot of new threads. but when i do, i appreciate it when people take the thoughts seriously, whether they wholeheartedly agree with me, or whether they try to flame me into non-existance. joking around ABOUT the topic is fine with me too.

i just get annoyed when a post that seems to be getting a good response starts to deteriorate into a chatroom-esque affair, with people holding conversations on their dinner, their sex life, their flatulence rate, etc.

i understand that not everyone is here to debate seriously. and i too like to joke around with people and have fun. i just think that people should show a little more respect for a thread that is going well in another direction, rather than turning into something completely different.

but then again, if that's what people want to do, then that's what's going to happen. i don't see many people ranting about it, except tack, and he rants about everything. so i guess if people want to take over serious threads with inanity, and no one else seems to mind, then that's the norm around here now.

and this whole rant went way, way off topic. sorry for being a hypocrite. i'm gonna go finish watching fight club now.

I've noticed that to get a topic going over several pages, its best to post it when people aren't online, like during the day on weekdays, or weekend mornings.
The people who are here have fewer new threads to reply to, and end up conversing in whatever is at the top. I've experimented, and had multiple threads reach 2 pages of bullshit posts within an hour of eachother.
