so...can a moderator expain the difference between tack acting like an ass in chat, which can be ignored by hitting a button, and the wraith when he first came here, insulting EVERYONE he came in contact with, in every thread, where he couldn't be ignored? and i believe it was you, wonder, who was chastising people for wanting to ban the wraith for that behavior...?

morgana - sure... IRC is different. People get kicked and banned in irc chatrooms all the time. Its not censorship or abuse of power, its about making the place more enjoyable for the people in there. If someone pisses you off you kick them, if they are pissing others off or whatever you ban them... Personally i could care less about people being banned from chat - or censorship in here, frankly there is not the time to moderate and censor what goes on in the forum, its ridiculous. In chat its easy to kick the offending invividual...

The difference mrgana is that the forum is selective reading - if you dont wanna read what wraith posts, you dont, you just skip ahread of the post and read somehting else. If someone is making a nuicence of themselves in chat it is non-selective reading... it goes on your screen and you cant just skip past it. the ignore function is pretty useless in chat, just as a 'ignore posts from person X' in the forum would be, you loose track of the conversation or whatever because that person still beigng responded to by others. /ignore is designed for flooders, not annoying peeps

I am not here to show tack what a mature adult is... i dont think anyone here is. We are all here just to enjoy ourselves, have soem fun, get involved in some healthy debate, make friends and all that shit. It doesn't say anywhere that anyone has to set an example.

All i am saying is that no one would have batted an eyelid at that kick anywhere else. Infact, no one in here would have batted an eyelid about it if it had happened to anyone except tack - who thought it derserved a topic all of its own, and made his usual noises about it.

I see things i dont like in here all the time, but shit happens, and it all blows over, i dont think its run badly, and all the admins of this site know any misgivings i have about the way this place is run. Any issues i have are made to the admins, and they listen.
