Regardless of your political affiliation, it just seems incredible this guy could get away with it for 15+ years. His only saving grace was probably that he wasn't overly greedy. He told the Ruskies he wouldn't have use for (and couldn't hide) more than about $100k per year. I'm very interested in finding out more about what kinds of info he divulged; when the spokespeople use the words " very grave" in that context, it generally means Top Secret and above.

I just started reading the FBI's affidavit concerning Hanssen:

I wasn't aware he compromised that many secret and top sectret programs. And his neighbors thought he was a good guy. Sheesh!

Paint, the affidavit I posted will give you the skinny on Hanssen. It's has the FBI's case as well as background on Hanssen and descriptions of communications with the Russians. More informative than news media me thinks.
