did anyone else watch the duh..duh..duh..dubbyah speech?

if so what were your thoughts on it?

I couldn't help but think he was reading a children's book to the crowd at some times. They he goes and points out to the "family" in the crowd who will need his new tax cut. Come on, it's like a 4 year old holding up a bunny rabbit saying "pwease mistah, may i pwease have my new tax cut pwease sir "

i think reagan started the "let me introduce *insert some random americans* and let me tell you how they will benefit from *insert random proposal*". Everyone has done it since then, even if it is annoying.

I thought it waan't bad, he spoke clearly until the last few sentances which is good. It must suck to speak for 45 minutes and know that people are waiting for you to misspeak in any way. Speaking of which, it was too long.

I thought it was one of the better speeches he has given, he seemed like he's warming up to public speaking more, he looked more at ease then he has in the past.

He seemed to be earger to take the middle, criticizing the both left and right with lines like "Year after year in Washington, budget debates seem to come down to an old, tired argument: on one side, those who want more government, regardless of the cost; on the other, those who want less government, regardless of the need."

I listened to the begining of the Democratic response but Tom Daschle sounded like he was talking to a sunday school class and started to put me to sleep. Maybe it was the lack of audience to liven things up or just his monotone delivery, but I couldn't take it.

i heard there were some issues in there, but i was too busy evaluating bush's tie selection to pay attention too
