anyone talk to themselves? what do you talk about? do you talk to yourself out loud or in your head?

i always make comments to myself, usually in a whisper. i also tell myself jokes in my head and end up laughing out loud. i also say 'stupid' and hit myself in the head when i make a dumb mistake. i think (hope) its normal, but three of my uncles were paranoid schizophrenics until they killed themselves, so im not sure...

I talk to myself pretty much constantly, in a regular voice.

"Well Brad, I think it's time for another cigarette"
"Dammit the forum is slow."
"You're cuttin' into my drinking time!!!" (usually when I am in a quick IRC discussion with someone after 8 PM.

Seriously, I have done this since I could talk.

I was a lonely, lonely child.

If it gives you any idea, I have probably talked to myself out loud more then I have talked to anybody else (possibly all people I have talked to combined)

my internal monologue is overflowing.

but i don't let it out much.

most of the time i try to drown it with the mental radio. today all it played was "Okie From Muskogee," the Voltron theme song, and some Jurassic Five song that I don't know the name of. Those three songs on repeat.

There aren't any commercial breaks, but every now and then a single phrase or name will pop in. Often.

I have a constant running dialogue with myself, in my head. Frequently I am sick of the other Inky, and wish she would shut up. She is the voice of self doubt, negativity, and fear. She undermines my desire and drive. I bet we all have one of these inside our heads.

I do talk out loud to myself, but these days alot of it is directed towards my dogs. I think I whisper a bit too, when I am trying to work out something. And when I get upset I will yell out in frustration.

I think it's all pretty healthy and normal. It doesn't worry me.

I talk to myself quite frequently, even when I'm socially-active (but I don't talk to myself while with other people). I work out ideas for things I'm writing by talking to my dogs while playing darts. There's something about a creature that can nod its head knowingly but will never argue that is quite satisfying. I already impose enough self-doubt on my writing process that I really don't need more critics until a piece is finished and ready to be read by others.
