Antione Duncan..(nostalgia part 1)
I first met him when I got out of the hospital. He took me to a room filled with typewriters and desks. It was the biggest room I had ever seen. He seemed 10 foot tall was dark as night and had his hair relaxed and combed back. He told me he was my friend and it didn’t take long for me to believe him. He was also always honest about my mother and I appreciated that.
Every time I would be moved he would tell me he was sorry and I deserved better or it wasn’t my fault. One time he even had to pull his car over and cry and I was angry he was crying because of me. He shouldn’t have to do that it wasn’t his fault. His emotional involvement was one of the reasons I asked him if I could go to a group home. I didn’t have much self worth left but I cared for him and felt like a burden he didn’t deserve. Once I was placed he told me I had to get a different kind of social worker because we ruled out adoption and he was an adoption caseworker. He was my oldest and only friend and no matter how many times I had to start over he was the one constant. I always felt like it was going to be ok when he was around. I didn’t see him again until I was emancipated.
When I was legally an adult (in the states eye) he brought me my file and told me why after they took me from my mother, why I wasn’t allowed to go live with the rest of my family because of who they were and what they were involved in. There were also a couple of weird things that happened earlier (mostly the presences of un-named people) and he asked me if I remembered and explained who they were. Everything was clear in less than a half an hour but I found more comfort in seeing an old friend than I did in the explanation of the majority of my past. It was good to see him; it was good to have that familiar feeling. I admired him so much; he was titan in my eyes. I wish I could tell him how important he was to me and about the mark he has made in my life or just thank you.
I have researched a bit but had no luck finding him.
Maybe he was an angel and has flown away to better places.
Thank you Mr. Duncan for your kindness and for being an outstanding human being.

Very cool, have you tried one of those people finders?
I used one a few years back to look for an english teacher I had that had made a big impact on me. Unfortunately he had died a few years before. It cost me about 40 bucks but it was worth it.

Sorry to hear about that.
I used the online phone book and called a couple of HRS offices. Can you suggest a "people finder"?

It's people like that that allow me to happily weep for the grace and beauty of the human condition.
Thanks for that Hell.
