The American Family Association, in conjunction with other pro-family groups, is conducting a campaign to persuade Movie Gallery to remove hard-core pornographic movies from their stores. Recently, a rally was held at the corporate office of Movie Gallery in Dothan, Alabama.

Movie Gallery is the nation's third largest video rental chain. Many of the company's stores nationwide offer hard-core pornographic movies, often found in "back rooms."

Mike Herring, Senior Vice-President of Movie Gallery, has repeatedly indicated that money is the driving force behind the company's distribution of porn. He noted that, "while adult movies were being rented, other family movies were rented." In other words, while Dad was renting sex videos like Oral Ecstasy or 4 Hours of Hairy Man Sex, his kids would rent floor-stocked children's movies. "It's a matter of economics," he said.

Now, more than ever, it is time for Christians to be salt and light in their communities. We encourage you to contact Movie Gallery Chairman Joe Malugen and politely advise him that you will not patronize his business until he stops this attack on the moral fabric of our society. Urge him, for the sake of our children, to put principle over profit and get out of the pornography business.

Hmm, a lot of "Freedom of________" being thrown around here the last couple of days.


In this case, the video chain has every right to rent porn and their ain't nothing anyone can do about it.

Unless of course minors are renting the vids or they involve GFY and his mother

In all the recent dot-com fallout, no one really talks about the one genera of web business that ARE turning a profit: porn sites.

Christians wouldn't be so annoying if they would just shut up. Don't like abortoin? Don't get one!! Don't like porn? Don't watch it? I'll have to laugh at them when the national chains fold because of lost profits after discontinuing porn rentals and they have to rent from local business that don't cater to political economic attacks. Ha-HA!

I knew some guys that worked for Silver Screen (it isn't a chain, just one store) and they would let employees take home whatever they wanted after 9:00 PM just so long as it was back the next day by noon.
