As our brain lessens in complexity, so does its ability to self analyze. We have to use this new simplified brain to analyze ourselves. We wouldn’t be in a better situation.

Complex brain = More brainpower to self analyze, but more complex to understand and analyize.
Simple Brain = Less brainpower to understand the “simple” brain.

Who says we aren't capable of understanding the brain right now, as complex as it is? Keep in mind that the research that's been done on the brain (not to mention the broader study of psychology) has largely been accomplished in the last 50 years - we have not been at it long. Give it time.

it could well be possible for it to be simpler and still understand it.
I dont think that cognative ability is in direct relation to the complexity of the 'thinking organ' why shoudl it be. all through the universe we can see that it is the simple systems that tend to work better than complex systems, normally due to efficiency - why should the human brain be any different?

Actually the brain is a complex system, made up of lots of very simple systems, and there is quite a lot we dont know about they way it works. I believ that in time, i am sure we will be able to fully comprehend what happens up there.

Why is everyone mentioning paradox? I don't even see a pair of docs. Nor anything like that. It was a simple statement, not neccesarily true, but still a simple statement. Not much to discuss there.

The reaosn for mentioning paradox is the statement ois one.A paraodx is an apprently contridctory statement that contains some hidden truth. That statement is thusly a paradox. Some find it confusing, usually the ones that lambast it so profusely. But on examination of the statement you see the paradox and it hidden meaning (truth). As I said, ADHD has been the only one to look at it and actually see it for what it is.
