Nopers! I watched some of leno, then wandered to the computer.
i have this feeling the one time i decide not to watch, something... big happens?
maybe it's the "Wo-jeez!" or even the

never watch it because i don't see the appeal, he tries to have high brow humor or something i guess, but it's just not funny even though i do get the jokes. I'll take Jon Stewart over conan anyday. I also happen to think that conan is gay.

Well, first Conan started making racist jokes. Then he moved on to making fun of his audience. While doing this, he basically told one man that he looked like he had gonorrhea. John Lovitt came out as the first guest, and Conan started insulting him, calling him an "idiot," telling him that he was stupid, and making all sorts of nasty comments. John shoots back, making all sorts of childish comments and puffing himself up. Things got so out of control that John Lovitt took over Conan's seat and started talking so quickly that Conan couldn't get a word in edgewise - it seemed like the producers wanted him shut up as quickly as possible. Commercial break. John starts playing as many clips from his new movies as possible. Another commercial break. Lucy Lawless, Xena: Warrior Princess, comes in on the second... John says "Look who's dating some of the most beautiful women in the world!" while taking her hand. Conan just glares at them in the most evil look I've ever seen any host give someone on television. And it went downhill from there.

all i saw was rich hall. conan seemed okay at that point, but the audience didn't seem too chipper. "chipper"? how old am i?

Oh yeah, I forgot all about Rick Hall - bar none, the best part of the show. They started speaking heresy - quite deliberately - about the economic situation of the US, and about how the EU is such a great thing, how the US Dollar needs a counterweight as a benchmark currency... quite striking considering that you will never, ever hear something like that said on CNN. Ted Turner would shit his pants if that ever got out on his network.

Man. Amazing how two people can watch the same thing and see two things entirely.

To me it was a great show. The monolauge was bad as always, the gags were pretty funny, and then Lovitz, an old friend of Conan's, came out and they both kept trying to one-up each other and throwing jibes. It was like an old Vaudeville routine. The whole Lovitz getting behind the desk was obviously scripted but also funny. Lucy Lawless came out and pretty much tanked. Totally not funny and there was not much that could save her. Then Rich Hall came out and he was pretty funny/interesting. There were some awkward moments but all in all I thought it was a funny show.
