Post What should i do......

ok my friend Gemma in a effort to build up my self esteem and confidence set me this task to ask a girl out for a drink (and actually go out on said drink)before september 20th. Whilst this is a difficult task for me i do feel that it is within my capacity to do this, the only problem is there is no one around at the moment who i want to ask out for a drink, well no one who who is realistically within my league (and im not being negative), there is one girl who i like but she is absolutely stunning and soo not within my league, another fact is that she is older than me and girls dont generally go out with younger guys.

Where can i find someone whos interested in a guy who aesthetically looks like a cross between fred durst and andre agassi, with no status or money?

i suppose i could just lie?hmmm.....

Who's Fred Durst?

What I find is always helpful is go to a big bookstore and walk around in a section with books your interested in and wait for a woman and ask for something they can recommend. Feel around (VERBALLY) before you ask anyone out for a drink. You'll know the difference.

i never cared about status or money
i wanted a guy who was smart and funny.
a happy guy is a good thing, no one wants to hang out with someone who is always down in the dumps

just go up, and say something like,
it would please me very much if youd let me buy you a drink.

then you do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around...
thats what its all ABOUT!

Fulla from Limp Bizkit I think, lead singer.

The bookstore idea would be a bit awkward wouldn't it?

Ask gemma out. If she says no, then she is no kind of friend lowering your self esteem like that.

Might was well go out for a drink with someone you'd be able to talk too all night.

That depends on how personable you are IRL. Talk to people on the same level as you talk to your friends and you might make a friend.

What's the age difference? I always go out with younger guys, I haven't dated a fella older than me in over 10 years. And they range in age from a few years younger up to ten years (although I am thinking of changing that to no one under 30.) I find guys my age or older kind of boring.

I have never cared about money or status or looks. I just want someone i can laugh with, have an intelligent conversation with, and if it were to ever get that far, have a good sexual relationship with. Respect is also very important, self respect and respect for others.

You know, I go to grocery stores and book stores and I see men and we smile or exchange a few words or whatever and they never ask me out. Then I hear men saying that they see girls in grocery stores and bookstores and that they spoke to them and smiled at them but were scared to ask them out. My point is, there are girls out there wishing you would ask them out.

It's likely some will say no. It's also equally likely that some will say yes. If you go into it knowing that, then what do you have to lose?

Good luck.

btw do you have a mic? a bunch of us girls could take you into voice chat and let you practice making small talk and asking

My mother always told me to finish what I started, but she had no idea of some of the people I'd be dealing with.

erm i do but the jack is designed for mixing desks and i dont have an adaptor, i could ask sp00ky if he has one, thats the kind of thing he has....

as far as talking goes i can hold intelligent conversation easily, im only humourous when ifeel comfatable around people so that takes some time, and my humour is the lowest form, otherwise known as sarcasm, apart from the stuff i borrow from Eddie Izzard.....i suppose practice wouldnt hurt....

thanks to everyone for their imput to this thread.

I show you how to ask girl for drink, mkay?

::walk up to girl/female friend::

say: hey, I was thinking it'd be fun to have a chat w/you, would you like to go out for a drink?

you could even try the short version: would you like to go out for drinks sometime?

.... that's it.

as long as you don't leer at her breasts and make to grab for them, you have a sporting chance.

It's just Drinks fer cryin' out loud. It's not like you are asking for marrige, or even asking her to go home with you that night.

All you're asking for is to meet with her in a public place to get to know one another a tad better. It's possible you could become friends, or lovers, or you might decide she sucks. But don't project on the future on what it could be, because you don't know. That girl may actualy go out for a drink. You wont know until you ask.

and if she says no, then ask someone else. Just cos she says no doesn't mean the entire female sex says no.

BTW don't lie about who you are (and this includes your age). It will backfire eventually.

Don't let your life be ruled by the fear of what may or may not happen.

You loose every chance you do not take.
