I worked at a motel. Front desk. It's easy enough, though I wish ours had had a computer. We had to use this big board and put tape up for reservations. Ugh.
The worst part of it is dealing with annoying tourists trying to cheat you out of a night's rent or even just the phone bill, etc. No, wait. My coworkers were worse. They were bigoted, racist, and rude. They disliked just about everyone. Especially the guy who worked the shift after mine. He just about did hate everyone, and he let them know it. I've had guests come in and tell me how much they disliked him, how mean he was.
Still, it's easy work. There's next to no stress, and since we're ocean front, we had some really hot chicks walking around in bikinis all the time.
Paywise, well.. I got payed shit, but I didn't really ask for more. If I had worked at any other motel, I probably would've gotten at least a dollar more per hour. I just liked the place I worked.
But all in all, I really enjoyed working there.
