Cyanide

If you irritate a millipede, it will give you a little dose of cyanide gas. If you sniff, you can actually smell the signature almond-like aroma of cyanide.
There is a species of millipedes that come from Africa that get up to 14" long that when irritated, can produce a very noticable amount of the gas although it isn't enough to harm a human.

I just thought you should know that in case....

Wow I just had the best idea of how to get rid of those annoying girls that freak out when they see a roach across the room.

Lock them in a room filled with those African millipedes. Before leaving them, throw some shit at the bugs to get them pissed. Then sit back and watch (on the other side of the window of course.)

I have ordered 6 of these beauties and with any luck, I am hoping to get them to breed.


I may expand my roach colonies too. I found a good source for exotics and will be getting a starter colony of Blaberus Giganteus once I get off my lazy ass and dig out some of my tanks and clean them up.


Ain't they purdy? These babies get up to around 5" long and are winged although they rarely fly. These guys are from South America.
