Rockford Files
Season 1 out on DVD, oh yes. Not great quality, by all accounts (and on double-sided DVDs) but, nevertheless, still one of the best American television shows ever.
You really are a strange, strange little puppy, Smug.
Rockford files is still a good show today. Plot- and character-driven, not flash (pretty seedy, in fact, in a low-level way), relatively well-acted.
one of the shows I used to watch with my dad. great characters. Angel. Rockford's a nosey bastard. I'll still watch it if I notice it's on. You're still weird, smug.
First season on low-quality DVD for only 30 bucks! Can't say fairer than that.
C14llis Tab5 @ GR@tE PR1c3s!

You should get one more.
Man, Rockford Files rules. There is nothing as good as this on television nowadays.
old people enjoy things they remember
Well, I didn't really see it first time out (vague recollections of a few episodes, but it wasn't something I got to see often). I saw it in syndication, same as you young'uns could have.
As far as old cop shows has anyone else seen a show called Wiseguy? It isn't as old as The Rockford Files ,but it's pretty old 1987.
Wiseguy was about a agent in deep cover in the mafia, the first season the gangster was played by Ray Sharkey,he did a great job.
It had the feel of Scarface, the characters never became fluffy like a lot of Tv characters. It's my all time favorite tv cop show.
Take a look if you haven't seen it.

Watched the pilot to "Kung Fu" last night. It was actually quite good.
