was Skyline worse than Predators though?

Posted by DRZ on 05-31-2011 12:13 PM:

I enjoyed Predators .... wasn't as good as the previous films, but wasn't that bad.

Posted by Brett on 05-31-2011 02:43 PM:

Predators was better than Predator 2.

The worst thing is, I'm probably going to see it again some time, just to confirm my harsh judgment.

I haven't dared to watch Skyline.

I enjoyed Predators as well. Of course I didn't have extremely high expectations, just a mindless romp of violence and gore.

Predadog.

I have them all, yea it wasn't as good as it could have been. It had the plot of an 80's video game, just dropped on a planet and hunted, I would rather them spend a little effort expanding the mythology, it seems like they have so much to work with but are so lazy. Predator 2 was great I though.

I liked Lawrence Fishburne's character.
I thought the direction and pacing was fine, the script so-so and Brody and the other actors pretty much par for the genre.

Did it add anything startling or inventive? Nope; but then most movies don't.

This is the kind of movie I turn my brain off for and sit back and enjoy. Some movies of this type I can do that with and some I can't.
Everyone liked Transformers, I hated it.
I just could not get past the fact that while shape and size to some degree can be transformed, mass cannot.

You can condense the Empire State building into a smaller mass, but not the size of a Camaro.

Biutiful
Iñárritu could have cut 20-30 minutes from this and would have had a better movie. It's still a very good one, even so.
Bardem was magnificent, as always.
I would have felt like Solomon cutting the baby in half if I'd had to vote for Firth over Bardem or vice versa for best actor.

"Le Nom des Gens"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1646974/

Cute movie, has the typical french drift...gotta like that, though.

I'd vote it 7.5 (equals imdb rating) because it was a slight romantic comedy, which was still watchable.

Great to watch it with a girl, since there ain't that many movies both genders can enjoy the same.

Mr Brooks.

Partly great, partly lame, altogether pretty good. William Hurt playing a demon helps a lot. 6.9/10

I just sat through Dr Strangelove again. I chuckled at the strings holding the model aircraft up and noticing a few continuity problems. Still great dialogue though.

4 stabs in the eye outta 5

127 Hours.

3 1/2 stabs in the eye out of 5. I really liked the cutting scene and I was egging him on to cut that tendon. I would have stabbed this one in the eye at least 4 times but the recollection scenes nearly induced narcolepsy. Hearing his bone snap woke me from my boredom.

Spoiler tags much?

Well, the film has been out a while. Don't blame me if you haven't seen it yet.

X-Men: First class

very good. better than the last film definitely. Wolverine's cameo was great, as was Kevin Bacon.

I don't know, how you can consider a worn out concept, boring redundant shit which needed 4 tries to get decent as "very good".

2397843892745892 part anthologies can only be labled with "you get what you think you get" and not with objective criteria, because a theme-exploitation is just brainless fuck cinema, which I despise in these days.

A fresh idea >>>>> 50000000000000 billions worth of cgi.

furthermore I can't stand the mean looking faces of the usual "hollywood bunch" anymore, except I would be allowed to puke between their bleached, soulless teeth.

An home-made anthology ala Alien is still quite fine with me (also the quality loss is terryfiying again) but a comic, manga, youthbook adaption just disgusts me beyond belive.

fucking disgusting people ..

you take stupid shit way too seriously and are argumentative for the sake of being so. It's like a troll minus the entertainment value.

or you just can't accept, that some of your likes are dumb and disgust other people beyond belive.
