Mary & Max.
Noticed it in this thread. Cute movie, no doubt. Can't rate it, though. It's too much an exception and tells it's story almost perfect, if you're open to it.
The Children
Hah! That'll teach you to not let us have ice cream for dinner.
The Disappearance of Alice Creed
Very well done kidnapping movie. Interesting and somewhat unnsuspected ending.
"There will be Blood"
well, there was boredom. hated it, crap.
In a Better World
Well worth an Oscar. They should have left its original title intact though. Revenge.
I tried to make my way through the Harry Potter movies.
I read the first 3 books, when I was 14-16, watched the 1st flick in theater, got disappointed like shit.
I caught up the following 3 movies on TV then...also shit.
Here is my reception of 5 & 6 ---------> Shit.
The story got mutilated, it's dumb, it's not even logical, if you didn't read the book. The only things that keep you watching are the 100 mio. $$ special effects.
CGI, curse of modern movieart.
I wished Terry Giliam had directed these ones, he most certainly would have given some decent english fairytale-movies to the world....which you could enjoy as adult as you could as kids.
Never read the books, but I was always more annoyed that the first 1.5 hours of each Harry Potter film was devoted to character development that I would forget by the next film and the last hour dedicated to the actual on-going plot. I'm more of the impression that an un-mutilated Harry Potter movie would be insufferably long.
I've seen them all in the cinema and I'll see the last. good popcorn fun not worth worrying about. If asked I'd have a hard time telling you the plot.
I really liked the look of the early movies, and some of the characters were great. Now it's just black and smoke and some dude looking around nervously.
they're not bad films, I just find it odd that the bulk of the actual storyline goes on in the last hour of the movie. I enjoy the films, but I forget what happened in the previous film when I watch the next one in the series as it feels like too much effort is put into creating a fictional world come to life than focusing on an ongoing plot.
That's the problem: forgettable popcorn cinema when it could have been an original, pretty gloomy fantasy saga for kids n adults, with a decent budget.
They gave away all the potential.
@Brett:
I think the books where so successfull, because of the original details, all the little things in that sorcerer world, which make you dive into it.
I liked them because of this.
I mean it's no world literature, but a cute little gem. totally overhyped though.
the books where much more subtile, the movies just

the trick to making a fictional world come alive is to tell the story and let the world be a setting instead of a character; the trick to character development is to tell the story and not make character development the point of telling it
PS: Harry Potter sucks in any format; read the "Books of Magic" comic books instead

Shocking...really shocking. I thought you were at least the second advanced society, behind europe, but it's like in the fucking darkages over there....christian mobs threatening people and repeating their brainwashing liturgies all over the streets...wtf fucking america?
I was also pretty sure I've seen TT patroling there in the church's favor.
You know, the guy who spottet the doctors Lexus at the Walmart parking lot....what a fucking psychopath.
the pregnancy care lady, what a fucking psychopath.
the priest...omg....what a devil...I wouldn't leave a child of mine alone with him for 2 seconds!
He seriously talked about a war demons vs angels...which is going on regarding abortions.
I guess the typical tea-party voters?
oh yeah....another thing is, that in my opinion, it's really kinky to outsource abortions.
like arnold and candace open an abortion-clinic, hire some doctors from case to case and pocket the money they get.....OF COURSE THEY HAVE JUST FINANCIAL INTEREST AND WANNA SELL THAT ABORTION AND DONT GIVE A REAL FUCK BOUT WHATS BEST FOR THE WOMEN.
I can see why some people protest against it, BUT that church guys should still get shot for their own best.
your society is fucked up hard, good night.
In hindsight, it could never have worked out for USA. They're simply too depending on millions and millions of people slaving and fighting and not evolving.
Interestingly, they seem to know this more or less subconsciously, and this leads to all kinds of fucked up beliefs built up around an old book of delusions that couldn't be further from what Americans need.
Now that the world is waking up to America's immense rape of Earth and humanity, it's going to get really interesting for independent spectators.
White America just has no real awareness of social problems, they have so many inferiority compelxes towards europe, that they waste their time justifying their social problems and playing the ball back instead of taking serious actions against the fucking fundamentals in their country.
And imagine what prestige americans had during the 80's....like top gun and shit..we all went crazy about it. Today, information-society, nothing can be kept secret (wikileaks etc) everybody just hates america for what it does, did and most probably will do...
I guess it's a generation thing...take Bill, TT, SS.,...the old fucks....they grew up in the 60's, Americas peak, it's hard for them to admit they managed world's leading country into world's leading debtor....with all the consequences,
and the younger guys, who really have a different point of view on their country (like SP, brett blabla) are just too fed up to take any action...too indifferent to develope political interest....too desillusioned to think they could change the system...shall this country burn down, we don't give a fuck.
Again, a pretty good analysis. But I don't think the younger guys can be excused for supporting the current system. There is NO reason, beyond vague ideas of insecurity.
Subservient intellectuals supporting genocide whoo hoo.
jesus, the self-righteousness of this place has somehow managed to increase...
They're so anxious to lose their prosperity, that they're scared to move. long time ago america was a progressive state...now it's medieval europe, filled with hobbits, who don't want to carry the ring.
As they try to combat the orcs while enduring the onslaught of Nazgûl swooping down on screaming fell beasts. Bromancing might save them.
Good stuff guys. Can't tell if trolling
