Remember when Eddie Murphy was funny and didn't make family fare shlock? I don't think I've seen this since the mid to late 90s, but the idea holds up pretty well even if the direct references to the time period don't. (lulz at the idea of a Wall Street Trader making "only" $80k today)
I dunno... the other half and I watched all three Beverly Hills Cops not too long ago. The first one actually still holds up as quite an enjoyable movie. The others... well, they're sequels. At least they're still funny Eddie Murphy, as compared to what he's become.
God Bless America
Kind of preaching to the choir, but the targets just weren't right wing douchebags like the people that teach their children to "hate fags."
PC gets knocked around too. The guy gets fired for sending flowers to a woman at work to cheer her up. He's told it's sexual harassment.

Lots of fun. Definitely worth seeing if you have any interest in this sort of movie.
I'll admit I was kinda iffy when I heard Mark Ruffalo was going to be the Hulk, but I think he's done the best job yet.
it really is a very fun movie, and you don't really need to know anything from the comic books to enjoy it. i don't think i've ever heard a theater laugh so hard at a man being beat up before.

despite the hulk, the avenger's superhero cast is pretty B-celeb.
While Iron man supposingly is the lamest marvel hero ever (comics and movies), cpt. America is just a LoL.
Imagine a guy called Cpt. France, put him in a tricolore spandex and give him a shield with a big rooster on it and you get a glimpse of the ridiculousness we feel if we see this hillbilly Missgeburt.
