A Texas mother drove over her 18-month-old baby’s head today. It happened when her other child opened the vehicles door and the unrestrained 18 month old fell out of the SUV.

I knew a kid this happened to..He too was 18 months old and him and his mother lived in an apartment complex, the kind where you can park right in front of the place...Well, my friend was hanging out with this guy Steve and not paying good attention to her son Chase..Steve got up to leave and hopped in his car which was right out front. He never thought to check behind the car, he backed out of the parking space and ran chases little head right over..He was sitting behind the vehicle. He was air lifted to Denver where he was treated for multiple fractures of the skull. He was in the hospital for weeks but came out good as new, no brain troubles or anything else..Was a miracle. OUr friend Steve was so truamatized..and the mother never really accepted full responsiblity..I lost touch after that.
Without reading that link, I'm just getting some fucking horrible images in my head... Dammit!

It's not in the paper here yet, but I was told yesterday, that in a neighborhood nearby a child was run over. The woman was speeding down a residential street, felt a bump, stopped and proceeded to back up and run over, what turned out to be a child, again. *sigh*
