I've been told repeatedly that I'm supposed to spend today reflecting and remembering, so I've been doing just that. Specifically, I've been reflecting on the trajectory of the airplanes as they hit the WTC, and how the rag-heads failed to maximize the potential of the attack.
Consider the following diagram:

It's fairly obvious where the sand niggers fucked up. The actual initial damage and mortality was minimized due to the trajectory of the impact. Secondary mortality was achieved by preventing people above the impact from escaping, and ultimately perishing in the collapse, however, the relatively high location of the impact minimized secondary mortality by allowing 70-90% of the occupants to escape before the collapse.
My proposal involves altering the trajectory and location of impact by nose-diving the airplanes towards the base of the building, as illustrated in fig. 1.1. Such an impact would not only dramatically increase the initial damage caused by the impact, but would also increase secondary mortality by 500-1500%.
In addition to the increased initial and secondary mortality, the TSIF mortality can potentially be boosted. TSIF mortality (The Sky Is Falling) is caused by falling buildings and debris. A low, angular hit would tend to cause the buildings to tip over rather than collapse straight down. The result would increase the TSIF range to many city blocks, rather than the area immediately surrounding the buildings. Obviously, this would be a bonus.
In conclusion, I feel the camel jockeys executed the attack extremely poorly, and if implemented my proposal would yield an estimated mortality bonus of 20,000-60,000 lives.

Hey. As I'm sure you can all see, we have top right up there, a rotating set of 20 or so banners that gets cycled through when you're browsing here. Nothing fancy, just something to keep the place more...dynamic, for lack of a better word. It's sort of nice having a different picture every refresh, but the well is shallow. We need more.
So, I'm soliciting NEW Asylum banners. I'm asking that you, the members, put some of your skills and creative energies together and show us what you got. Cool looking, funny, snazzy, mind-blowing...whatever. But make some banners, and it'll get thrown in the rotation (so long as it doesn't completely suck or violate the rules). Just a nice bit of window-dressing to add to the ambiance of the place.
Most entries will probably get added to the rotation, but I want to see GOOD ones up there. And I want to see who has some talent. So the admin team will pick winners. Gold, silver, and bronze entries. Each will get culture and/or humor points, depending on the entry and how good it is (and thus how it ranks). We wanna see what you can do.
The only rules:
1. It has to be all-age content. No porn banners, please (and yes, I know there are some now, and we're getting rid of them). Retards dancing, is of course, perfectly acceptable.
2. 468 x 60 pixels is the size requirement.
3. The smaller the filesize the better (30kb max)
Post submissions here. Let's add something to the place. I wanna see what you guys can come up with.

 Two 12-year-olds were hostpitalized in poor condition and 18 other people were treated for respiratory problems and vomiting Sunday after going on water rides at a park in the suburbs of Columbus, Ohio. Authorities were investigating what sickened the people, said Janice Jackmehoff, spokeswoman for the Wyandot Lake Adventure Park. She said several people in the park's wave pool began coughing just before noon. The water rides were evacuated, and the wave pool remained closed Sunday evening.
Liberty Township fire officials said people reported seeing a woman with soiled drawers in the pool shortly before people became sick. Authorities are seeking this local woman, identified only by the initials PMG, for questioning and invasive anal probing.

Truth be told, I did this for myself.
I'm sure most of you have noticed the change in the points display, and some of you have already whined about it (fiend). I, and i'm sure alot of other people, was fed up with one-line posts (which encompasses 9/10 posts here) taking up half a screen. That has now been alleviated.
Also, as an added bonus, there are some points display options in your user options. You can:
- Prevent your points from being displayed to other people
- Choose not to see any points at all
This is sure to make Wraith happy, and sharing the same sentiment I am quite thrilled.

For all you image-hosting impaired, we now have a public image bin.

It should be pretty straight-forward. Upload your image then consider it hosted. Some things to note:
- We will not host pornography of ANY KIND! If you upload pornography you will lose your access to the image bin. Bewbie pics are ok assuming the subject is of legal age (that's art, not pron)
- Do not upload copyrighted images.
- Do not upload depictions of illegal activities, or images that are considered illegal
- Maximum image size is 100k
- No hotlinking! These images are for display on asylumnation.com only. This is programmatically enforced, if you try to link an image from a different server you will get a picture of a sexy brunette in a bathing suit scolding you for hotlinking.
- You can only upload .gif, .jpg and .jpeg images
There is no limit to how many images you can upload (at this time at least). In fact, you are encouraged to use the feature in picture threads so we don't end up with a bunch of red x's when your hosting account goes kaputz.
IMAGE NAMES - When you upload an image, you will be asked to name it. This is not the filename of the pic, it is a title for the pic, what you want to refer to it as. This must be alpha-numeric, non-alpha-numeric characters will be converted to underscores (_). The name must also be unique, no two images can have the same name. You can then easily insert the image into a post using the following code: <~imagename~>
For example, if i upload an image named 'pic_of_my_ass' I can insert it into a post by typing <~pic_of_my_ass~>.
Also, anyone can view or use your images, but only you can delete your images.

Well, actually nobody is waiting for it, in fact it's never been mentioned before to my knowledge, but you're gettintg it whether you like it or not.
So I was setting some Winamp options a few days ago, and I saw the 'skins' menu which I usually ignore, but I said what the hell, let's get a new look. So I download all five 'featured' skins, and let me tell you, THEY FUCKING SUCK!!!!!!!!!! My god, how the fuck can these be 'featured'?
So anyway, I saw the 'make your own skin' button on the winamp site, and i'm all like "yeah baby!" so I click it and like 50 hours later I have a crappy half finished product that i'm giving up on. You can get it here: http://www.asylumnation.com/misc/asylum.wsz

I've redone the stalker map. You can now add yourself to, or remove yourself from existing dots. I went through the stalker atlas threads and it should be pretty up to date, but i could have missed some people. Either way, if i missed you you can add yourself to the map.
If you need a dot added to the map, let me know by replying here and I will add it. Don't email me because it will be put off and buried forever amidst all the other crap i get.
Please note:
- I will not add a dot for you if you live near (within 100 miles or so) of an existing dot.
- I will not add a dot for your little shithole coal mining hick town unless you are nowhere near a decent sized city.
- if your little shithole coal mining hick town is near (within 100 miles or so) a decent sized city or major metropolitin area i will add a dot for that city rather than your little shithole coal mining hick town.
